A gathering of “Food Power, Good Farming”! The Agriculture Bureau of Taichung City Government and the Education Bureau of Taichung City Government jointly held the “2026 Taichung City Food and Agricultural Education Achievement Exhibition and Campus Food and Agricultural Education Carnival” today (28th) at the plaza in front of the Life Science Hall, the National Museum of Natural Science. Through achievement displays, an agricultural products market, and a variety of interactive experience activities, the event attracted many local residents and families with children, demonstrating Taichung’s fruitful achievements in promoting food and agricultural education.
The Agriculture Bureau stated that this event was themed “Food Power, Good Farming. A Grand Gathering of Taichung Food and Agricultural Education,” and featured a wide range of activities, including stage performances, an agricultural products market, food and agricultural education experiences, and achievement displays. Teachers and students from 30 junior high and elementary schools were invited to participate in the exhibition, and 12 booths were set up to sell local agricultural specialties, allowing the public not only to take part in the activities, but also to learn about Taichung’s high quality agricultural products and diverse agricultural landscape, further putting the concept of “local production and local consumption” into practice.
The Agriculture Bureau explained that the event venue featured the “Abundant Agriculture, Good Food Power” achievement display area, presenting in images and text the concrete results of Taichung’s efforts in promoting food and agricultural education and agricultural marketing. This was paired with checkpoint learning activities to guide visitors in learning about agricultural knowledge and food culture through interactive participation. Stage activities included a bingo game on food and agricultural knowledge and story sharing sessions. There were also wonderful performances by “Hsiao Hsien (小鮮) ”, the mascot of Taichung Fresh, and the dance club of Kuo Kuang Elementary School, creating a lively atmosphere at the venue.
The Agriculture Bureau pointed out that food and agricultural education is an important bridge connecting agricultural production, food culture, and everyday practice. Taichung City has adopted “building a solid foundation, supporting good food, safeguarding health, and caring for the land” as the main framework for promotion, integrating city government resources to continue deepening food and agricultural education and enhancing public awareness of food choices, food conservation, and agricultural sustainability. Through this event, the public not only gained a better understanding of local agricultural characteristics, but was also encouraged to give priority to purchasing local agricultural products in daily life and support agricultural development through action.
The Agriculture Bureau emphasized that it will continue to promote food and agricultural education and agricultural marketing in the future, deepen public identification with and support for Taichung agriculture, and work together to build a sustainable agricultural environment.
Among those attending today’s event were the Director of Agriculture Bureau Li Yi-An, the director Education Bureau, Chiang Woei-Min, and a number of principals, directors, and teachers from Taichung City junior high and elementary schools.
