Da'an Farmers' Association Winery

Da'an Farmer's Association Winery(大安)
Da'an Farmer's Association Winery(大安)

Da'an District, situated in the northwest corner of Taichung City, is located within the alluvial fan plain of the Da'an River and Dajia River. The soil is composed of sandy loam and clay loam, known as black soil, which is fertile. The irrigation water source comes from the abundant waters of the Da'an River and Dajia River. The organic-rich river water seeps into the ground, undergoes natural filtration layer by layer, and then naturally springs out, forming pure natural springs. Combined with the unique climate near confluent streams, it nurtures high-quality rice, scallions, taro, and sweet potatoes.

In order to produce a locally crafted “local wine” that preserves the local flavors, the winemakers have studied the production techniques of Japanese sake and have created Taiwan's unique wine aroma.

The beauty of the local ecology can be found along the coastal embankment on the western edge. Taking a stroll there will reveal unprecedented surprises. In just a few kilometers of coastline, you can witness Taiwan's unique national treasure, the Da'an Hygrophila pogonocalyx, as well as the mangrove forests. It is also a paradise for wild birds, and you can see a large group of crabs busily foraging on the beach. In the evening, you can walk to the beach, build sandcastles, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere while appreciating the beautiful scenery of the tides, sunset, and flocks of egrets returning to their nests.

A one-day tour of eating, drinking, and having fun can include visiting the Da'an: Farmers' Association Winery, walking along the wooden plank trail to admire the mangrove forests and fiddler crabs, visiting Wenliao Fishing Harbor, enjoying a barbecue at the Da'an Leisure Farm, visiting the White Duck Farm, exploring the Da'an Hygrophila pogonocalyx at the Coastal Ecological Education Park, visiting the Egret Conservation Area, exploring the green onion cultivation area in the fields, and exploring the rivermouths ecology.
