The Choutengkeng Leisure Agricultural Area (抽藤坑休閒農業區) has been honored with the 2018 and 2021 Leisure Agricultural Area Evaluation Appraisal Growth Awards. The most eye-catching star insects are fireflies because the area locates in the mountains and forests, besides common insects in mountainous regions. In recent years, they has vigorously promoted the restoration of fireflies in the district, which have becomed the highest-quality ecological resource in the place, the original forests in the mountainous area are well preserved, and the natural ecology is rich. Every April is the season of fireflies, which are as charming as stars and are one of the characteristics of eco-tourism in the area because of the injection of water from the Choutengkeng and Yinyingkeng streams (暗影坑溪). There is a water park where you can play in the water to cool off the heat and observe the ecological fireflies at night. You can also pick fruits in the orchard to taste fresh fruits, buy souvenirs at the farmers' market, and climb the Yinying Mountain Trail (暗影山步道) to overlook the beautiful scenery of the mountains and forests while hidden in the hill alleys. The area is adorned with natural ecological elements such as orange daylilies and fireflies, providing a dreamy paradise-like experience that varies with each season.
【Bailengzhun (白冷圳)】
Bailengzhun was constructed during the period of Japanese occupation to provide irrigation water for cultivating sugarcane on the Xinshe Terrace. People set up the channels along the steep slopes of the mountainsides using natural engineering methods based on the drop produced by changes in topography principle. It is an important facility that integrates elements such as the most modern water conservancy engineering technology, the lifeline of industrial economic development, the emotion of human and river interdependence, and aesthetic imagery. It is also related to the cultural history and natural ecology of the Xinshe district, which with the significance of the interaction between humans and nature that the cultural landscape emphasizes. The historic buildings include the water inlet of Bailengzhun, the inverted siphon of Choutengkeng, and the water-pass suspension bridge of the Aishan branch line (矮山支線過水吊橋).

From National Highway No. 1, connect National Highway No. 4 to the direction of Dongshi (東勢). Go to Fengshi Road (豐勢路) of Provincial Highway 3 (臺三線), cross Dongshi Bridge (東勢大橋), and turn right into Provincial Highway 8 (臺八線). Then turn right at 10.5 km, cross Long'an Bridge (龍安橋), go uphill to the left, and turn sharply to the right. After crossing Bailengzhun, there is a three-way intersection in front of you. Keep left, then go straight and turn left. Next, go straight for about 1 km to reach the Choutengkeng Leisure Agricultural Area.
