The Agriculture Bureau of the Taichung City Government has joined forces with Funcom Supermarket to organize Taichung's Freshest Produce Season event. Dedicated sections in 30 Funcom supermarkets across Taichung, Hsinchu, Nantou, and Changhua have been set up, where premium agricultural products like Murcott oranges are available. Today (21st), a press conference promoting these products took place at the Taichung Qinghai branch of Funcom Supermarket. The press conference includes live agricultural product tastings and sales promotions, aiming to introduce quality local products to consumers and encourage them to support and purchase these products.
Chief Secretary Chen of the Agriculture Bureau said that Taichung City benefits from exceptional climate and environmental conditions, resulting in diverse and high-quality agricultural products all year round. To boost marketing efforts for the local agriculture industry, the city government has introduced “Taichung's Freshest” brand this year. This initiative adopts a brand management approach, integrating various marketing channels and resources to elevate the identity and recognition of Taichung's agricultural products.
Chen expressed his gratitude to Funcom Supermarket for their assistance in promoting Taichung's agricultural specialties. This partnership not only helps broaden the market but also aligns with the idea of local production and consumption and offers farmers a platform to showcase and promote their products. Chen hopes to foster more partnerships in the future, so that more consumers can appreciate Taichung’s commitment to its excellent agricultural products that are delicious, fresh, and safe.
Chen noted that the agricultural products now available have been carefully selected for their premium quality. It’s also worth mentioning that Taichung's Dongshi District benefits from significant temperature fluctuations day and night, which results in Murcott oranges with higher sugar content, yielding a juicy, flavorful, and long-lasting fruit with a pronounced sweetness. They are also packed with vitamin C, dietary fiber, and essential minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and iron, ensuring both taste and health benefits.
