Jointly promoted by the eight counties and cities of Central Taiwan, the 2025 Central Taiwan Agriculture Expo is hosted this year by Taichung City and officially opened yesterday (8th), running through the 30th at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station, Second Nursery. According to the Taichung City Government’s Agriculture Bureau, this year’s event not only integrates the “Xinshe Flower Sea and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival” under the theme “Three Blossoming Events: Flower Sea, Flower Carpet, and the Central Taiwan Agriculture Expo,” but also debuts two major creative art installations—“Taichung Freshest: Giant Produce Photo Wall” and “Taichung Freshest: Unboxing Gift Box.” These works interpret agricultural aesthetics through an artistic lens and have become the most captivating highlights of the exhibition area.
According to the Agriculture Bureau, this year’s expo is guided by the vision of “Agricultural Abundance, Regional Character, and Smart Sustainability,” bringing together eight counties and cities in Central Taiwan to create seven themed pavilions that showcase rich agricultural diversity—from vegetables, fruits, flowers, and tea to coffee and processed products. Among them, the “Taichung Freshest Pavilion” features two specially planned large-scale art installations on its exterior wall and at the diagonally opposite side. Using creative approaches that incorporate local agricultural characteristics, these installations allow visitors not only to enjoy taking photos but also to appreciate the synergy between agricultural innovation and design.
The first highlight is the 4-meter-tall installation, “Taichung Freshest – Giant Produce Photo Wall.” Centered on the theme of “Central Taiwan’s Bountiful Harvest,” it features real vegetables, fruits, and root crops arranged with wooden shelving to create a colorful, three-dimensional visual display. The overall design symbolizes the abundance and vitality of agriculture, echoing the Flower Sea theme and becoming one of the most popular photo spots among visitors.
The second installation, themed “Taichung Freshest – Unboxing Gift Box,” draws inspiration from “premium specialty gifts from Greater Taichung.” Its exterior design combines an angled gift-box lid with a standing box structure, symbolizing the idea of “opening Taichung’s finest—fresh surprises await.” The visual presentation incorporates orange, white, and green tones, integrated with the “Taichung Freshest” brand imagery and plant elements to embody the perfect blend of fresh Taichung agricultural products and a happy lifestyle.
The Agriculture Bureau noted that the two art installations not only enrich the expo with an artistic ambiance but also reflect the direction of promoting a younger and more visually engaging agricultural brand identity. During the exhibition period, visitors are welcome to take photos with the installations; in addition to participating in a check-in raffle, they can also experience the cross-disciplinary appeal of combining agriculture with creative design.
Furthermore, the exhibition area features a marketplace showcasing local agricultural specialties, providing farmers with a platform for interaction and sales. A variety of on-site programs—including live performances, DIY craft workshops, agricultural product tastings, and a stamp-collection prize draw—are also arranged, allowing visitors to enjoy the diverse charms of Central Taiwan’s agriculture amid the beauty of the flower sea and the fragrant abundance of fruits and vegetables.
The Agriculture Bureau emphasized that integrating large-scale events with creative exhibitions not only enhances the market visibility of Central Taiwan’s agricultural industry but also symbolizes the shared vision of local governments in advancing sustainable agriculture. All people in Taiwan is sincerely invited to visit the Flower Sea with family and friends, check in at the two major art installations, and experience the richness and innovation of the Central Taiwan Agriculture Expo.
